310th Fighter Squadron (310 FS) "Tophats"
On December 27, 1992, this F-16D, flown by Capt Gary L. North, downed a MiG-25 that violated the no-fly zone in southern Iraq with an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile. It was the first USAF F-16 air-to-air victory, the first ever F-16 BVR kill, and the first AMRAAM kill. The MiG-25 kill marking was placed on the left side just below the canopy frame.
