FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some of the most commonly asked questions we get from couples looking for a Wedding Photographer.
Q: What kind of camera equipment do you use?
A: We shoot with Nikon Digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) Cameras and a variety of Nikon lenses.
Q: How many photographers will I get?
A: Matt and Melenie will work together to capture your wedding. Typically, in the time before the wedding, while you're getting ready, Matt will stay with the Groom and Melenie will stay with the bride, which offers the best coverage of both of you. For the Ceremony and all posed shots, we work together, taking photos from different angles and distances. This offers a combination of traditional and photojournalistic photos. At the Reception, we split up and focus on capturing all the stuff happening, always watching for the "perfect moment". This is often when we capture the photos showing the most emotion and personality.
Q: Will I meet you before the wedding?
A: Of course! We believe a good relationship with our clients is very important. All of our Portrait Sessions and Wedding Packages come with a FREE consultation where we sit down with you and discuss your specific needs. This is a great way for us to get to know each other better, and offers you a chance to ask us any questions you may have.
Q: I've scheduled my consultation... what if I need to cancel and reschedule?
A: No problem! All we ask is that you let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule. Failure to do so will result in a $50.00 consultation fee when you reschedule.
Q: Which Wedding Package is right for me?
A: This question is most easily answered when we sit down for your initial consultation. Determining the right wedding package for you will require some information about your wedding day. As a general guideline, the following is a breakdown of our wedding packages and the type of wedding they are best-suited for. We can customize any of our Packages to meet your specific wedding needs.
- Our Basic Wedding Package, which includes 3 hours
of coverage, is perfect for couples who are looking for minimal coverage. This package allows enough time for basic coverage of the preparations and the ceremony, as well as photos of the Bride & Groom with Family, Friends and the Wedding Party. Please note, this package does not normally include coverage of your reception.
- Our Classic Wedding Package, which includes 5 hours of coverage, is ideal for couples who are having a small wedding and a short reception. This package allows enough time for about 30 minutes of coverage of the preparations, the ceremony and a two- to three-hour reception. There is also time for some of the more traditional "posed" portraits with this package.
- Our Deluxe Wedding Package, which includes 8 hours of coverage, is our most popular package, and our best value. This package is perfect for couples having a more traditional wedding. This package allows us enough time to photograph the you and your Wedding Party getting ready, the ceremony, a two- to three-hour reception reception, as well as enough time for most of the more traditional "posed" shots.
- Our Ultimate Wedding Package is an all-inclusive package designed for the couple who wants every little detail captured on their Wedding Day. With 10 hours of coverage on your special day, you'll have plenty of time to capture everything...
- Pre-wedding preparations -- hair and make-up, bow ties and cuff links, and everything in between! A great time to capture candid shots!
- Bridal Presentation -- time for the Bride and Groom to spend alone before the wedding, allowing for more romantic and intimate portraits.
- Wedding Ceremony -- allows plenty of time for longer ceremonies that include a Unity Candle, blending of sands, a reading or special musical performance, etc.
- Plenty of time for posed portraits with the Bridal Party, parents, grandparents, other family members and special friends attending your wedding.
- Full Reception Coverage (4-5) including dinner, bouquet toss, garter throw and lots of mingling and dancing!
If none of our Wedding Packages meet your needs, we can use our "A La Carte" items and build a wedding from scratch, customized just for you! Please feel free to contact us to schedule a free consultation so that we may discuss your wedding in more detail and find a package that is right for you.
Q: I'm getting married in the morning, but we aren't having the reception until later in the evening. Can I "break up" the hours in my Wedding Package?
A: Yes, you may; however, breaking up your hours is subject to additional charges. Contact us for more information.
Q: What is required to book you and "save the date"?
A: We require a 20% deposit to book your wedding date. Your entire deposit is applied towards the cost of your wedding package, with the balance due two weeks before your Wedding Day.
Q: My church doesn't allow photography and/or the use of flash during the Ceremony. How will you get photos of us saying our vows and exchanging rings?
A: We will not photograph during the Wedding Ceremony if contrary to church policy, or if you feel we might be a distraction to the sacred nature of the event. If photography is not provided during the actual ceremony, we strongly recommend re-enacting the ceremony immediately after the procession, so that we may provide you with the best photography possible.
Q: When will I get my photos? How soon will they be available online?
A: This depends on the Wedding Package you choose. Once your photos are available online, you (and any guests who are pre-registered for online vieiwing) will be notified.
Q: How many photos will I get?
A: Well, that depends on lots of things... if you've hired a Wedding Planner, or if you have a really organized friend of family member, your wedding will be much more organized, which takes the stress of keeping things moving along off of your shoulders and allows us to take more pictures! A lot of the posed shots we set up will look the same at first glance, but we want to take several of each shot to be sure Uncle Ernie is looking at us, Grandpa has his eyes open, and everyone is smiling. We take as many pictures as necessary to get the coverage you want.
Q: Can I get CDs with all of my images?
A: Yes, you can. CDs with a copyright release can be added on to any package at an additional cost.
Q: What is a copyright release?
A: A copyright release is written permission from us allowing you to take your CDs to any photofinisher and have prints made. Without a copyright release, photo labs are not legally allowed to print your photos.
Q: So, will my photos just be out there online for the world to see?
A: No. We understand that many of your friends and family will not want photos of themselves or their children available to the public. For this reason, your photos are password-protected... only those who receive the password can view your Wedding Photos online. For added security, access to our Event Login page is only available through a Custom URL that you select when you book us. We provide you, your family and your guests with this
information on your wedding day, and you may also share it with friends
and family who cannot attend your wedding. Please note: The only exception to this are the photos we use on our website and in our online portfolio.
Q: Will you be sharing my information with other Wedding Vendors or prospective clients?
A: Absolutely not. We respect our clients' privacy, and we will never share or sell your information to any other businesses or perspective clients. On occasion, we may wish to use your wedding photos as an example of the type of photos a client might expect from a specific Wedding Package; however, we will not do so without your written permission. Prospective clients looking for references will be directed to our Testimonials Page, which includes feedback we receive from you after you receive your photos.
